Hello! My name is Zachary Banker and I'm an illustrator from Chino, California.
Graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration with an emphasis in Visual Development and a minor in Film Studies.
Born and raised in Southern California, I grew up surrounded by friends and family.  My father, who worked within the animation industry at the time, was a large influence of my passion for art at such a young age. As I got older, an appreciation for animation and a love for the Disney parks grew my obsession for art, animation, and storytelling even larger. I began focusing on designing characters and drawing from life, but above all, drawing with a story to tell. With that in mind, I chose to take my skills to the next level by attending Ringling College of Art and Design, taking one step closer to my career within animation and the entertainment industry as a whole.

Brad Bird once said, “Animation is about creating the illusion of life. And you can’t create it if you don’t have one.” - which rings true to how I view and live my life. Art mimics the world around you and from different ways I can spice up my day to adventures that may fall into my lap, I aim to have a wide library of reference to influence the stories I can tell. Along with that, I utilize music to play a part in the stories I create. Inspired by Pixar’s “The Blue Umbrella,” and many other short films, music can be used in such an influential and creative way to paint, not only a picture, but also stories and emotion.

Driven by the influences of my past, guided by the everyday things around me, and fueled by a desire to pour new creative stories into the world, I can’t wait until I can share my ideas and stories with others. All to pave a dream path for myself and the 10-year-old me that first sat down with a pencil and a sheet of paper.
